Does your child feel nervous when they think about losing their baby teeth? If so, our dentist, Dr. David Suttie, has some tips for you! Fortunately, there are things you can do to help make losing baby teeth fun. The more fun you make it, the less trouble you might experience during the process. The things you can do to help your child include:
-Introduce them to the Tooth Fairy! The Tooth Fairy visits your child when they lose one or more teeth. When they place the tooth under the pillow, she visits them, takes the tooth and replaces the tooth with a treasure, like money or trinkets!
-Help your child build a cute little box or pillow pocket to keep their lost tooth in. These can keep the teeth safe until the Tooth Fairy visits!
-Help your child create a sign to hang on the door when they lose their tooth. The sign will tell the Tooth Fairy they’re ready for a visit!
-Leave little notes or signs from the Tooth Fairy. You can do so by making fun Tooth Fairy receipts, kind Tooth Fairy letters or even glittery money! You can also leave her Tooth Fairy wand behind or make glittery footprints in the window seal to show she was there.
